These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between Goongoon Tutors (“Goongoon”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), the individuals who apply to or are assigned as tutors (“Tutor” or “you”), and the families or clients who engage Goongoon’s services for the academic support of a student (“Client” or “Family”). By accessing, using, or engaging with our platform or services in any way, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by these Terms.
Goongoon Tutors provides a platform that connects qualified tutors with families seeking academic support for their children. The scope of this service includes scheduling, coordination, and limited oversight of tutoring sessions. Goongoon does not operate as a school, educational institution, or employer of tutors. This agreement is designed to outline the terms under which tutoring services are delivered and to establish a shared understanding between Goongoon, the assigned Tutor, and the Client.
Any use of the platform that violates these terms, applicable laws, or ethical standards may result in immediate suspension or termination of access.
Goongoon serves as a coordinating and facilitation service. The Tutors engaged through our platform are independent contractors. Nothing in this agreement creates an employer–employee relationship, partnership, joint venture, or agency between Goongoon and Tutors or between Tutors and Clients.
Clients agree not to treat Tutors as employees and acknowledge that Tutors are not entitled to benefits, salaries, or legal protections afforded to full-time employees under Ethiopian labor law. Likewise, Tutors agree not to represent themselves as agents of Goongoon or engage in activities outside their assigned scope.
Tutors agree to perform all scheduled sessions punctually and professionally. They are expected to prepare in advance, respect the privacy of families, and uphold high ethical and academic standards. Tutors are prohibited from:
Tutors must immediately report any situation involving discomfort, safety risk, or conflict of interest to Goongoon for resolution.
Clients agree to provide a safe, distraction-free environment for tutoring sessions, whether in person or online. They must not pressure tutors to take on responsibilities unrelated to tutoring, such as household duties or personal favors.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that minors are supervised, that payment obligations are met, and that all session interactions remain respectful and professional. Any concerns regarding tutor performance or conduct must be reported directly to Goongoon rather than addressed privately.
Clients may choose to make payments either directly to the assigned Tutor or to Goongoon Tutors. In cases where payment is made directly to the Tutor, the Tutor agrees to communicate payment confirmation to Goongoon for transparency and documentation purposes.
Goongoon may collect service fees from either party as part of its coordination role. Tutors may be required to make advance payments (e.g., placement or activation fees), which may be refunded or reassigned to a different job at Goongoon’s discretion in case of service cancellation or reassignment.
While we aim to offer flexibility, Goongoon reserves the right to audit or review payment methods to ensure fairness and avoid abuse of the system.
Goongoon aims to support both Tutors and Families in creating the best possible learning environment for the Student. We offer resources, guidance, and intervention where possible. However, Goongoon does not guarantee academic success, performance improvement, or specific learning outcomes.
The responsibility for the student’s progress is shared between the Tutor, the Student, and the Family. Goongoon’s role is facilitative, not instructional.
Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Advance payments collected from Tutors for placement, activation, or coordination purposes may be refunded or applied to future job opportunities, depending on the situation.
Goongoon reserves the right to withhold, delay, or reassign such fees in cases of contractual violation, Tutor unavailability, or repeated cancellation by the Client.
Tutors and Clients may communicate directly to reschedule sessions based on mutual availability. This flexibility is encouraged to ease coordination.
However, if repeated cancellations, delays, or rescheduling become a concern, the affected party (Tutor or Client) must report the issue to Goongoon before making a final cancellation decision.
This gives Goongoon the opportunity to clarify any misunderstandings, mediate the situation, or, if necessary, reassign the tutor or client to ensure continuity of service.
Goongoon Tutors is not liable for any damages, losses, injuries, or misconduct that occur during or as a result of tutoring sessions. While we conduct due diligence in screening Tutors and monitoring complaints, the actual tutoring engagement takes place between independent parties.
By using the Goongoon platform, both Clients and Tutors agree to release and indemnify Goongoon from any legal claims, damages, disputes, or liabilities arising from:
Tutors and Clients are responsible for their own behavior and for taking reasonable precautions during engagements.
Tutors must treat all information related to students and families as confidential. Likewise, Clients must not publish or misuse the personal details of Tutors, including but not limited to names, photos, educational background, or contact information.
Goongoon collects only the personal data necessary to deliver its services. We do not sell or share user data with third parties without explicit consent, except where required by law. All communication through Goongoon's official channels may be monitored for quality assurance and security purposes.
Goongoon reserves the right to terminate this agreement or suspend any user’s access to the platform at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to:
Tutors and Clients may also choose to end their engagement, provided notice is given through the proper Goongoon communication channels. Unused prepaid sessions may be refunded or forfeited depending on the circumstances.
By using the Goongoon platform or engaging in any part of its service, you agree that any information you voluntarily share with Goongoon — including but not limited to application responses, tutor feedback, session experiences, voice recordings, images, videos, or testimonials — may be used for:

All content, graphics, branding, text, lesson materials, and design elements provided by Goongoon are the intellectual property of the company and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without permission.
Tutors and Clients may only use such content for personal educational use within the terms of this agreement.
We may revise these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted on our website and will become effective immediately upon publication. Users are responsible for reviewing the Terms periodically. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any revised Terms.
These Terms, along with any supplementary agreements or policies, constitute the full agreement between Goongoon Tutors, Tutors, and Clients. No oral or written statements outside this agreement are binding unless expressly included.
By accessing and using the Goongoon platform, and by participating in any tutoring arrangement facilitated by us, both Tutors and Clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Terms of Service.
